Product Description

Four Bar Knee Joint for Knee Disarticulation stainless steel/ titanium 3R46 0 Four Bar Knee Joint for Knee Disarticulation

• For knee disarticulation • Polycentric• With mechanical extension assist

• Suitable for max. S.S100 kg (220lbs) / Ti 125Kg(275Lbs) body weight

Recommendation:

• For knee disarticulation amputees

• With moderate functional levels

• Normal stability

• Not suitable for insecure amputees and those with higher functional levels

Description:

The upper joint section with adjustment core and the lower joint section with pyramid are connected to each other with anterior and posterior linkage bars. The lamination anchor is the detachable connection to the socket. The stance phase stability is achieved through polycentric kinematics. Extension assist and axial friction are both adjustable.

Technical Data:

• Knee flexion range: approx. 110°

     • Height (knee center - upper edge): 18 mm

manual instruction

  1. Description and Function

CHG-06S(S. Steel)/ CHG-06T(Titanium) Modular Knee joint are suggest for used by knee disarticulation amputees with moderate

activity levels. These Modular Knee Joint is recommended for loading up to a maximum of 100Kg. The joint – due to its polycentricity – provides a rotational and shifting movement. Thus, the center of rotation (instantaneous center of rotation) changes its position dependent on the degree of flexion. In the extended position this center of rotation is placed at the height of the femoral condyles. It moves downward and forward

with the increased flexion. The integrated extension assist serves for control of the swing phase. The strength of the spring for extension assist and axis friction may be separately adjusted (see section 3 and 4).

  1. Alignment

Correct static alignment for prosthesis starts with the determination of the individual weight bearing line. Transfer of the patient’s measurements to the prosthetic components then follows according to the illustrated alignment recommendations (Fig.1). The axis plane of lower joint section must be horizontal.

  1. Instructions for Attaching the Lamination Anchor

(1) Flexion Stop

The lamination anchor serves as flexion stop, as it is placed on the axis bearing of the lower joint section (Fig.2, Fig.3) on the extreme position of the flexion of the knee. The stop position locates near in the lower aperture of the lamination anchor, as the arrow point out in Fig 2. Attention must be paid to this stop function, also after lamination.

(2) Before Trial walking

Prepare the correctly fitted lamination anchor before bonding it to the socket. To this end fill the opening of the lamination anchor with Plastilin Clay – LP-C11 Plastilin Clay sells by our center – (Fig.4). Clamp the socket and joint into the alignment apparatus. Mix Orthocryl Sealing Resin and Microballoons or talcum powder and bond the lamination anchor to the distal end of the socket. Secure with adhesive tape before trial walking

takes place. (A – C1 Rosin and Microballoons supplied by our center)

(3) Final Lamination of the Socket

After trial walking additionally screw the lamination anchor to the socket using the attached M5×18 flat machine screw and M5 nut (4 sets), and then laminate. Reinforce the perlon stockinette lay – up in the area of the lamination achor using Carbon Fiber Webbing. When laminating make sure that the lamination resin is evenly distributed. When assembling the lamination anchor, tighten two M8×12 set screws using the torque Wrench. Torque: 15 Nm.

  1. Adjustment of the Bearing

Getting axis friction using enclosed wrench, and turn cap screw(M8×40) using a 5mm hex head wrench. Clockwise rotation = increase friction ,Counter – clockwise rotation = decrease friction .

Adjustments of as little as 5°to 10°provide a perceptible change. Adjustment to eliminate clearance must take place after 2 to 4 weeks walking. Every time maintenance work is carried out, the adjustment should be controlled. After the knee has been worn for long time, knee axis and bushing need be clean. When you remove the Anterior Linkage Bar, please remember the original position of it. Apply lubricant (supplied by

our center) after cleaning the Anterior Linkage Bar and Knee Axis Bushing by coal oil or gasoline.Recommend applies lubricant annually.

  1. Adjustment of the Extension Assist

For individual control of the swing phase, adjustment of the axis friction and mechanical extension assist must be coordinated. To this end adjust the strength of the spring for extension assist by turning the knob for extension assist. Clockwise rotation knob = increase extension Counter – clockwise rotation = decrease extension.

  1. Warranty

CHP will offer 2 year warranty. During this time, we accept exchange maintain and refundment if any problem occurred because of products itself.

Maintenance sees section 3. After the knee has been worn for long time, if Knee Axis Bushing has heave serious frazzle and impossible recover the original function, it can be sent back to producer and change new one. The charge of repairing and material will be paid after the period of warranty.
